HVAC Balancing

Ernest D. Menold, Inc. is a TABB certified contractor in the Philadelphia area. Our certified Testing and Balancing supervisors oversee instrument calibration and attend annual re-certification seminars. 

 

Our balancing policy goes beyond routine testing, in which we incorporate the following additional steps:

 

• Observation of the physical system and performance of its component parts over time, documented in a Balancing Report

• Analysis of substandard system operation, and recommended corrective actions

• testing and analysis of indoor air quality. We test for CO, CO2, formaldehyde, hydrocarbons, ozone, and nitrogen dioxide. We will send bacteria/ mod swabs to outside labs.

• Troubleshoot the system, pinpoint problems, retrofit VAV boxes, dampers, fans, coils, control devices, and ductwork.
